?A person might be an expert in any field of knowledge or a master of many material skills and accomplishments. But without inner cleanliness his brain is an empty vessel.?
Cleanliness is choice of every human being. Every human being on earth likes cleanliness. Cleanliness is an attitude, though it appears to be simple and a matter of no importance but it speaks volumes about a person and his personality.
Can you think of a person going for an interview in shabby dress? Most probably he would be thrown out without an interview or even the gate keeper may not allow an entry seeing the person in shabby dress.
Can you ever think of going to the office in shabby and dirty dress? May be this question may not have occurred to you at all!! Most of the advertisements of shampoo and soaps speak of personal cleanliness and keeping oneself healthy.
If we attach so much of importance to personal cleanliness then how much more importance should be attached to the cleanliness of the mother earth. Who pollutes it? Earth does not pollute itself. We may not intend to pollute the earth but then through our actions and deeds we make the earth dirty and of course hazardous for our own dwellings. In the name of development we experience the growth of industrialization and this, leading to Global Warming.
Let us see Chennai city itself, it has become a city of garbage now. The conditions of rivers are in pathetic situations. Roads are very dirty and waste things are thrown here and there on the roads and all around.
My contributions:
It is always better to begin with myself instead of waiting for the right person which I may never find, until I begin with me. I am always concerned not to pollute the earth in all the possible ways I can. I make point not to throw anything on the roads or any where, instead put in the dustbin kept along the road sides and in stations. I keep my room, house and compound always neat and clean.
Every minute detail of a person speaks about his personality. Once one person told me, seeing your soap box I can tell you how clean you keep things.
So it?s important to keep everything neat and clean and thus we learn to keep our mother earth also clean and neat.
If we keep ourselves always neat and clean then how can we ever think of dirtying the earth? It should begin with you and me and not somebody else, today and now at this moment.
The doctrines of religion are resolved into carefulness; carefulness into vigorousness; vigorousness into guiltlessness; guiltlessness into abstemiousness; abstemiousness into cleanliness; cleanliness into godliness.
?One, who maintains cleanliness, keeps away diseases.?

?Simplicity of character is no hindrance to the subtlety of intellect.?
The world is so attractive and so glamorous that it?s difficult to describe in mere words. The world has become so complex in nature that an individual can?t grasp. Man is a tiny drop of water in a vast ocean. The world defines itself in terms of fashion, competition etc. each one competes to prove his/her strength and ability in different ways possible.
In the midst of all these we tend to forget the most essential aspect of our lives; the noble relationship, we forget to care for others or we do not have enough time to do so. There are also many rich people who live life of simplicity and spend their time, money and energy in the upliftment of poor and needy.
Look at the great leaders born on this earth; they neither won great awards nor did they conquer the whole world in great battle!! But yes! They won the hearts of millions and millions of people all over the world.
Where do I stand?
?Simplicity is the peak of civilization.?
I am a man of simplicity, in my dressing style or to say about my food habits. I do not own plenty of dress codes but what is required for me; for I believe what is the use if I buy new clothes and store it. I do not waste food materials, for I know there are millions of people who go to bed hungry every day. I cannot give much to those who ask for alms yet I respect them as human beings, people who need my attention and care.
Let us live the life of simplicity and respect each other and be kind to everyone, thus we can build a better world; where peace and serenity may prevail upon everyone living on earth.
CHOICE???
Choice is yours, choose what you may.
It depends on how you take it.
Every body is given just 24hrs a day
It all matters how you use it.
Dream, the dream of success and change
And you will have it.
Be empathetic to those in need of your concern
Inner satisfaction will be result of it.
Conquer the world of wealth if you like
Will you carry to your grave yard too?
Conquer the hearts of millions with thy simplicity
Thy memories will be ever cherished for generations.

I use only public transport to commute, and i also promote the use of public transport among my friends and family.
I believe that Peak oil isn't far from now and each and every single individual must sacrifice luxurious travel in order to conserve our oil resource. This is my individual contribution/ sacrifice to the larger picture.
I know i am just a speck but i believe it still counts..

Water is as precious as life itself. Hence it becomes the duty of each and every individual to save water in every way possible. Water can be saved a lot in our day-today use.
We do not understand the value of water when it comes to the houses where there are all types of water facilities; for instance: can you imagine how much water is wasted in a house where there is tap and 24 hours water supply; on the contrary think of a house in a village or even in cities where mother has to fetch water every day morning and evening, carrying heavy water pots on her head. How can you think of wasting water in such case?
My contributions:
Though it may not be very appealing to all but I care a lot for saving water in my day-today life. I close the taps properly if it is leaking or else it continues to leak all the through day. I repair the taps if needs to be repaired.
Rain water is one way of saving water; and so at home the rain water is harvested and collected in a sump, and the rain water is used for various purposes; like watering and some times bathing too when there is water shortage.
Water which is used for bathing is also used for watering the plants around the campus; as a matter of fact we can save plenty of water.
In city like Chennai where we face acute shortage of water, it becomes the responsibility of every person to save water. Think of a day without water at your house. How the day would be without water!!!!!
Water is the one substance from which the earth can conceal nothing; it sucks out its innermost secrets and brings them to our very lips.
SAVE WATER, SAVE THE EARTH.

?People who claim they don?t let little things bother them have never slept in a room with a single mosquito.?
Man is man?s own enemy.
The serious diseases like malaria, chikungunya, dengue etc. are caused by mosquitoes. Mosquitoes do not breed and grow by themselves, but it?s we who allow them to breed and grow through our commissions and omissions.
For the eradication and prevention of MOSQUITOES:
I keep my house and surroundings neat and clean and also keep the drainages always clean; as a result mosquitoes cannot breed. I see to it that rain water do not get collected in unwanted waste materials like tins, cans, tyres etc. I do not allow the unwanted plants and bushes to grow in the surroundings. Grass is trimmed on regular basis, as a matter of fact this adds to the beauty of the house and compound. It also leaves no space for mosquitoes to breed.
?Too often we underestimate the power of a mosquito, singing in our listening ears, laughter, an honest compliment to our skin for the smallest act of caring through sharing our blood.?
Remember a small mosquito can book your place in a hospital bed and sometimes one can even experience HEAVENLY PEACE.
So BE CAUTIOUS and care for your environment today and the environment will care for you tomorrow.

WE BLAME PLASTIC AT THE SAME TIME WE USE PLASTIC
Plastic has become part and parcel of man?s life; it is inseparable from the life of people. For instance in any shop either groceries or textiles, plastic bags are commonly used. See the PARADOX if you buy a cloth bag in any shop you have a plastic bag to carry the cloth bag.
My Contributions:
I normally prefer cloth bag when I go shopping or marketing. I prefer paper tissue for wrapping food items/bakery items. I go for fresh fruit juice instead of bottled juice or drinks. I carry the same bottle of water every day instead of going for another bottle; so that I can minimize the usage of plastics through the maximum use of same the bottle which is already there (Minimum usage of plastic through maximum usage). While at work, picnics/outings, traveling I carry food in the steel container to avoid temptation of dumping the plastic which has been used for carrying food items so that the area remains clean, tidy and pollution free. I buy milk directly from the milkman instead of buying diary milk packets.
Man created the plastic bags and the paper plate and this was good because he could then take his automobile and buy all his food in one place and he could save the rest in refrigerator and throw away things which were of no further use. And soon the earth was covered with the darkness of plastic bags and paper plates and there was nowhere to sit or walk. And the man shook his head and cried: GOD FORGIVE MY DEEDS.
Now the responsibility is on our shoulders to once again make the world a plastic free zone; a problem should not be called a problem if there is no solution to the problem. ?It may sound impossible but we should remember nothing is impossible.?

NURTURE NATURE TO NURTURE LIFE
?Nature teaches more than she preaches. There are no sermons in stones. It is easier to get a spark out of a stone than a moral.?
Man can?t be separated from nature at any point of time; if at all there is a separation that would mean the end of either nature or man. For instance breathing, drinking water etc;
How much time can we stay alive without breathing!!!!
How many days can we stay alive without drinking water!!!!
How many weeks can we stay alive without eating!!!!
How many months can we stay alive without communicating!!!!
How many years can we stay alive without being bothered about the destruction of the environment!!!!
Contributions:
Preserving the environment is the only solution to save the earth from destruction.
Tree plantation is one of the ways to make the environment look clean and green; and so I pay more attention to plant as many trees as possible. I have planted number of trees in my home campus. I have maintained a flower garden in my house courtyard. I take good care of all the trees around the house by watering and giving manure to the plants on regular basis.
I also keep my environment neat and clean from all types of pollutions such as; air pollution, water pollution etc.
The hands which we use for destruction of the earth, the same hands can be used to build a better world, to make a better place to live in.
